Happy New Year

A brand New Year is set before us, and how will it be used?
I am baby sitting 5 of my nieces And their baby bro. Jordon. While their Daddy and his fiancé Edith have gone shopping for there wedding.
They are engaged to be married on February 9 2013
Everybody is excited for them and the girls absolutely love her. And she loves all them.  
   Hopefully life will be back to normal for them again. After everything they have gone through already in the last year.
May this be a year that we are of service to those around us. and not to live selfishly. But live for the Lord and be open to his leading

Hello to any one who may read this. this is a prayer request in behalf of my sis-in-law Ruth Lee, she has breast cancer.with not much hope as far as medical goes, Doctor said he believes in miracles and that God can still work out one for her healing.They just had a preemie baby boy who is still in hos. and Mamma not able to be there and take care of  him.

Every Day Happenings

Thought I,ll try and post a few thoughts today again. Is such a beautiful day sun is shining so brightly and the air so crisp. Gardening is almost past for the summer Potatoes are all dug,got some nice big ones We planted 150 pounds this spring and got approx 400 pounds in return . would be nice to have a bigger garden next year to raise more sweet corn.                                                                                                                                                          Today is Grandpas Birthday making him 62 years old . So the plans are to go over for the eve. with supper.

I'm making laundry soap today which is quick easy and cheap.

Here is the recipe if you wish to make it.

1 bar soap(I have used Zote and Fels Naptha)

1 -1/2 cup 20 mule team Borax

1-1/2 cup Washing Soda ( not baking)

3 Gal. Water

Using a box grater, grate a bar of soap,Bring 1 gal. of water to a simmer,and add grated soap.

Stir until soap has dissolved and water is near boiling.

Add Borax and Soda, stir on med. heat for 10 min.

Pour into a bucket that will easily hold  3 gal. ( I used a 5 gal. pail )

Add 2 gal. of Hot tap water ,Stir occasionally until cooled

mixture will thicken as it cools

Use anywhere from 1/4-1/2 cup per large load of laundry

The Zote makes a pretty soft pink soap 

This makes out to be less then .80 cents per gallon

The only way to get it cheaper is if someone gives you a bottle

Life is busy

Spring is coming around the corner,or so we thought, had this great plan of getting my oldest son to fill up the cold frame with compost an dirt,then as soon as I come home from our young ladies sewing of making dresses for our girls I wanted to plant all the garden goodies, now it surprised us in the night with rain an ice,so will have to wait a bit longer,
My days are filled with cooking, cleaning,laundry Teaching and training 8children for the Lord,And our home based business as a Independent Reliv Distributor . We are at the point of Honey Buns stepping in to help more,as it grows.there are so many sick and needy folks out there in need of better health, its such a blessing to watch them get well. 

Our home

 this is the office and sewing room what you see is a half inch
layer of cement on top of other cement that was cracked and
soaked through with dog urine which we took up and washed
floor with three moppings of bleach water and then painted it.  

 this is part of the kitchen after it was painted and wall paper
border put up,and cupboard doors put back on that were
hanging on one hinge.  

This is part of living and dining room,this too, is after painting
and papering is done,somehow I lost the before cleaning
pictures on the part of the house.

This is the bedroom was the worst room in the house,
and did it ever stink in there ,being it was the dogs room.
had dark paneling, before we painted it, also painted the
floor after many washings and put carpeting down, making it
almost the nicest room in the house.

This is the living room before any thing was done to it, we did
take this carpet out as simply could not get it clean,
which too got many mopings done then painted to seal off the
smell and put new carpet down,and painted the wall.

This is the dining room the main room being in good condition
only needed to paint it and it was ready, it has a nice wood grain
floor covering it  

This is the kitchen and I really love it. The door goes out to a
enclosed back porch,with our two freezers ,and also a great
place for all our coats and boots.
